Future Urban Automated Cargo Service

Urban Automated Cargo Service Can Relieve Streets and Roads from Some Truck Traffic

  • Direct, Non-stop Cargo Delivery to Urban Cargo Terminals
  • 30 to 65-mph Travel Speeds!
  • Containers Transition from Hi-speed Inter-city Lines
  • Transport To and From Large Cargo Shippers and Receivers

The automated cargo container cars used for hi-speed inter-city transport of cargo are able to transition between inter-city and urban area lines for seamless cargo transport to and from cargo terminals within urban areas. This capability reduces large truck traffic on urban streets, roads, and freeways. Cargo delivery is also accelerated by avoiding needs to load and unload much of the cargo for urban delivery.

Containers Lift from Carriage at Terminals for Local Transport on Flat-bed Trucks

Cargo Vehicle on SuperWay

MegaWay offers high-speed cargo transfer service that shares the MegaWay system with personal automobiles and public passenger service to assure efficient, low-cost operations. Most cargo currently transported in large, over-the-road trucks can be moved in MegaWay containers. Cargo containers may be lifted from MegaWay carriage for local transport on flat-bed trucks.

MegaWay Cargo Container

MegaWay cargo containers may be removed from carrier vehicles for local transport by trucks to and from points away from cargo terminals located along MegaWay SuperWays. Large end doors allow standard forklifts to move palletized cargo into and out of containers in exactly the same manner as large trucks are loaded and unloaded. Up to three tons of palletized cargo can be accommodated.

MegaWay Automated Cargo Vehicle - Empty

MegaWay cargo vehicle sloping end caps fold down to reduce aerodynamic drag during movement of empty vehicles to minimize energy use by dead heading vehicles. The folding end caps contain provisions to  hold the removable cargo container in place for shipment on the SuperWays.
