All vehicles (automobiles, public transit, and cargo containers) move at constant speed on open, elevated guideways consisting of a pair of smooth, enclosed stainless-steel rails. Open space is provided between the rails to allow skylight to reach the ground and minimize visual blockage. The total cross-sectional area of the two rails is less than that of typical monorails. All vehicles move at constant, synchronous speed in computer generated and maintained, ´virtual train´ slots on the guideway. Entering vehicles are merged into open slots in the ´virtual train´.
