Conventional and dual-mode electric automobiles easily enter the MegaRail system from ordinary streets and access roads by way of weather-protected entry ramps. After passing through an automated identification and car configuration check lane, an entry gate opens to allow cars to drive up the ramps to the rail entry point. Conventional cars then drive down a short down ramp to the bed of a waiting car ferry. When the car front wheels contact stops on the ferry bed, the ferry accelerates and merges from the entry siding into the main line traffic at full speed. Dual-mode cars use the same down ramp to drive directly onto the MegaRails and then accelerate and merge into main line traffic.
